Our Petitions Are Worship

Even our petitions to God are worship. A prayer for healing is an acknowledgement that He is powerful, He can heal, and He is good (whether or not He heals). A cry for His Presence is an acknowledgement that our desires are not satisfied without Him—that He alone is the fulfillment of our secret longings. A prayer for aid in our job or studies shows that we believe He is strong to help us and we believe He is good enough to want to do so. We worship God even as we ask.

  1. I can’t say how many times I’ve thought of this since you posted! It has changed my perspective. And my prayers. “We worship God even as we ask.” It’s so true, but I had never quite seen it that way. Thanks!!
